Blizzard WWI 2008

We just returned from a quick trip to Paris, France.  We attended the World Wide Invitation 2008 for Blizzard Gaming.  It was pretty good.  We stayed in the Hotel Ibis Convention about 2 blocks away.  It was a small room with an even smaller bathroom.  It had a great air conditioner though.  It might take about 30 minutes to cool the warm room but once it was going you better watch out.  A blanket will be in order soon.  Even though this is only a 2-3 star hotel we did not mind.  We were only in town for the convention.

Overall the WWI2008 was okay.  There really was not too much to do.  We picked up tickets for both days and ended up a little bored at times.  At least we were not rushed...I guess that is a plus.  We were at the opening ceremony when they announced the unveiling of Daiblo III.  We also had a chance to test out the new World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King....or something like that.  We were only able to play for 10 minutes or so.  Things looked good though.  Druids are going to get some cool new forms.  :-)  We say in on a couple Q & A panels.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that Blizzard lets players save 2 talent trees instead of respeccing every couple of days for raiders/pvp'ers.  We also play a game of the WoW table top miniatures.  It was fun and no where near as confusing as I thought it would be.  That was a plus.  We were able to learn and play a game with in 20 minutes.  The closing ceremony was okay too.  L70ETC band played and leveled up to 80 while we were there.  Then we saw Video Games Live play.  They were AWESOME.  They took music from Daiblo, Starcraft and World of Warcraft and performed it live with an orchestra and choir.  I love stuff like that so I was really into it.

Overall it was a good trip.  We took the train from Germany to Paris...took about 2.5 hours.  We had some yummy food too.  Paris is a pretty expensive place.  Even a cheap trip is not cheap.

Malta Food Highlights

Maltese Sampler:  Olives, Sausages, Black Bean dip, Maltese Crackers, Sundried Tomatoes and Semi-Soft Pepper Cheese

Traditional Matlese Meal:  Stuffed Marrows, potatoes and veggies.  Marrows are some sort of squash.  They tasted like zucchini and were stuffed with beef, onion and tomatoes.

Felt like Sushi so we stopped into Hugo's for some GREAT food!

Chicken & Coconut Soup

Sushi...Mmmm

We visited the Hard Rock Cafe and I had the ribs.  So good!  I had Penne alla Amitricianna for dinner our last night there.  The picture is really dark so I will not post.
